Author: Don Simkovich
Don’s writing started as a kid with an in-house newspaper he created during Nixon’s Watergate tribulations. It was so in-house that the scribblings were done in his room and stayed there.
He studied short story and scriptwriting at the University of Pittsburgh before trekking into journalism and marketing content, mostly in the non-profit sector. About 2009, he got serious about writing fiction and created short stories, novellas, and a novel for a now defunct small press — but he worked with excellent editors.
Don hails from western Pennsylvania and lives in Pasadena with his family. So Cal and Los Angeles have served as the location for the Tom Stone Detective stories that he’s co-written with Lon Casler Bixby.
Honing fiction remains important and Don enjoys breaking down novels, writing, and listening to and sometimes ignoring feedback.
